His mother's name is Margaret Johnston, nee Flynn, originally from Armagh,N.Ireland. It is important that I contact Michael as I have some information regarding his family. I believe that he may have links to Manchester and London. If anyone has any info please contact me,thanks,Mark

| My husbands great uncle served in the Royal Navy during WW11 and was killed in action. The NZ Navy archives cannot help locate records because he served in the English Navy before the NZ navy existed and I cannot find his name anywhere. His name is William Campbell born 1894 at Coromandel, New Zealand. Oral history says he died in the battle of the Hood.
A navy researcher has seen the picture attached and advised me that he has a rating of Petty officer or below.
Any information would make this researcher very grateful. His nephew, my father-in-law is still alive at 96yrs old and it would be great to let him know more.

| I just found this great site and wonder if there are still some of my old shipmates around (we are all in our late 80's) who served on HMS Punjabi and HMS Quorn in WWII. Punjabi was sunk by being rammed in thick fog on Russian convoy duty by HMS King George V, and Quorn was sunk soon after D-Day with heavy loss of life I understand. I was picked up out of the Arctic by HMS Martin, sister ship to HMS Marne, mentioned in one of your messages on this site. Ken Tipper, Ocala, Florida | |
