I am attempting to contact John Carr a former Naval Officer who joined the Navy as a Boy Seaman in 1945. We both went on to serve aboard H.M.S Illustrious and later served aboard H.M.S. Chieftain in the Mediterranean (1948--1950)
Sadly we went our separate ways and I would like to get in touch again.

My 18 year old uncle was one of the 159 casualties when HMS Martin was sunk 10th November 1942. Our family website is dedicated to all who served on HMS Martin. If you are a relative of one of the crew or know anyone who is, we would love to hear from you.
Thanks,

Tom.

Anyone out there have photographs of the dogs
on board the minesweepers based in Singapore
during the Indonesian confrontation 1965-66?
I'm particularly interested in finding a photo of Scratcher on the Puncheston who excelled
himself on one run ashore by spending a night
in Nee Soon barracks in the cells.

Please pardon my double post.

Caroline and I met in the summer of 1997 or 1998. She was on holiday.

I had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful Royal Navy Lieutenant in Rhodes Greece in and around 2004. Her name is Caroline, as in HMS Caroline. Her last name is very uncommon, thus I am unable to remember.

I would like nothing more than to make contact with her to simply say 'hi' and to let her know I've thought about her all these years.

I'm currently a CPO in the US Navy serving in Bahrain.

I know it's not a lot to go on. I'm running out of ideas :). Just a shot in the dark.

Just got my late father's naval record. His name was Bill Smith and he was in navy from 1947 to 1954. I thought there would be more info on ship's names, but most of it seems to be shore establishments - Nelson, Victory, what I think is "Tamar" which I think was Hong Kong & fits with what i know, Terror (Singapore?), Osprey, Dryad. I would like to know a bit more about what he would have done at these establishments. Also - some ships are listed - Sirius and Diadem in April and May 1951, Fetlar towards the end of that year and Welcome in 1952. Any ideas what he was doing? One last question - his rating from 1951 is RP3 - is that radar? Many thanks for any help anyone can give
